Eastham also reported that the two new wells on the property will provide sufficient water to meet expected needs for drinking and sanitary purposes, and also for future use when a swimming pool is built. Ten picnic tables have been purchased and will be installed as soon as sites are prepared. Meanwhile, work is under way toward clearing walking trails which have been laid out throughout the site.
THE treasurer’s report revealed that more than $9,000 has been collected locally from donations, youth membership fees, and profits from the July 4th Flea Market, two plays sponsored by the Rappahannock Education Association, and the Sperryville supper. Expenses to date have totalled nearly $4,300, including costs of drilling two wells, insurance, play scripts, flea market advertising, fund drive envelopes, and a stereo set purchased for the youth organization. Cash on hand as of April 25, 1975, was $4,782.10.
