The three SCC judges, who are appointed by the state legislature, authorized the construction of a 500 kilovolt (kv) powerline from Vepco’s Mt. Storm, W. Va. generating station through Frederick, Warren, Rappahannock and Fauquier Counties to a proosed substation near Morrisville.
As part of this “interdependent” powerline construction program, the SCC also proposed the construction of powerlines from the proposed Morrisville substation through Culpeper County to the Vepco North Anna Nuclear Generating Station in Louisa County;
