A SUM OF $250 for radio equipment for the sheriff’s department stayed in the budget. An assistance grant obtained through the District Planning Commission will pick up the rest of the tab on the $6,000 of new equipment.

The total general operating fund was left at $979,898.33, which the Supervisors cut from $992,121. The entire budget will be advertised in the Rappahannock News prior to the public hearing on the budget June 5, at the regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors.— Pekay Pettus
