ED HARRIS of Huntly, a retired newspaperman who now dabbles in real estate and champions the charms of Rappahannock County, owns property which will be directly impacted by Vepco’s powerline proposals. He has been in the forefront of efforts to thwart these designs, and when we asked him for a statement he said he’d call back later—he was that upset.
He brought in a statement a few hours later, which he admits he wrote while he was still upset, angry, and “feeling like a squashed tomato.” The statement follows:
I BELIEVE that the decision of the State Corporation Commission is dramatic and outrageous proof that the people of Virginia cannot expect a fair shake from state regulatory bodies that are appointed to protect the people.
