are made for two major causes: prevented plantings and abnormally low yields.
A PRODUCER may qualify for prevented planting payments if, due to a natural disaster, he is prevented from planting an acreage of wheat or feed grains at least equal to the sum of the wheat and feed grain allotments on his farm. A producer may qualify for an abnormally low yield payment if, due to a natural disaster, the total production for a crop is less than the farm acreage allotment for that ' crop times the disaster program yield.
Certification of feed grain and wheat acreage will be required only if a claim for a disaster payment is filed.
