Sgt. Melvin Timbers has been named Sergeant of the Month of A Co. 123rd Signal Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division in Wurzburg, Germany. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bell W. Timbers of Woodville. He is a Communicator with the U. S. Army.
Smith graduates
Marine Private First class Johnnie B. Smith, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilber L. Atkins -gf Sperryville, was graduated from the Basic Automotive Mechanic Course at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
He received nine weeks of instruction on the inspection, maintenance and repair of military vehicles and tactical motor transport equipment
A 1974 graduate of Rappahannock County High School, Washington, he joined the Marine Corps in October 1975.□
