Hunting seasons

During a meeting scheduled for May 7, the Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries will make final decisions on proposed changes to hunting seasons and bag limits for the coming season, according to Chester F. Phelps, Executive Director for the organization. Scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., the meeting will be held in the Commission’s office located at 4010 West Broad Street in Richmond.

Among the items to be considered are a longer bow season, a shortened turkey season, restrictions on muzzle-loading weapons and an alteration in the days in which doe deer may be taken in counties east of the Blue Ridge and a modification of the crow season. Only a few changes are being considered for the fish laws.
