SOUTHEASTERN spot cotton and hog prices advanced during the week ended April 30, reports USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service. Cattle and poultry prices were lower, while most other farm commodities held generally steady. Batcher hog prices advanced 50 cents during the week. However, cattle prices trended lower in an uneven trade. Southeastern corn and soybean prices closed mixed. Corn prices ranged 1/2 cent lower to 7 cents higher with a cash spread of $2.52 to $2.85-3/4. Soybean prices ranged 10 cents lower to 5 cents higher with a cash spread of $4.51 to $4.90-1/4.

Soybeans were 10 cents lower to 5 cents higher, mostly 4 to 7 cents lower with a cash spread of $4.51 to $4.90-1/4.
Cash bids to corn producers at Southeast Virginia points ranged $2.63 to $2.70 and Richmond gained 2 cents to 7 cents at $2.68 to $2.73. Wilson, N.C., bids of $2.68 to $2.69 were 2 cents to 4 cents higher. South Carolina’s Piedmont area held unchanged at "$2.70 and Central area at $2.82^ Louisville, Ky., was $2,65 to $2.671/2 and Ohio Valley at $2.52 to $2.64. Alabama trucklot offerings were 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 cents higher with bids of $2.85-1/4 to $2.871/2. Georgia multi carlot prices ranged 1-3/4 to 3-1/4 cents higher at $2.85-3/4 to $2.87-1/2. Terminal elevator offerings at Memphis were $2.80-1/4 to $2.85-1/4.
