THE proposed legislation, if adopted, would go into effect beginning October 1, 1976, and the Secretary of the Interior would make payments to each eligible county on a fiscal year basis. Warren listed other estimated payments to counties within Planning District Nine under H. R. 9719 as given by the U. S. Department of the Interior. Madison would receive $21,695 and Orange $477.□

4-H needs funds

The Extension Office has more applications than in recent years to attend Powell’s Fort 4-H Camp from July 12-16, near Woodstock a 4-H Day Camp near Boston, Va. Unfortunately, some may have to be turned away because of lack of funds, according to the County Agent.

Twenty-five dollars will send a youngster to Powell’s Fort, or $5 for the day camp, but any amount contributed would be appreciated and helpful. Those interested in sponsoring Rappahannock youth are urged to contact the Extension Office, 675-3619.□
