“The map is only an attempt to show graphically what the subdivision ordinance says.” He explained that the green lines showed density build up and served as an indicator of a potential subdivision. “They are not a goahead to divide into one acre lots.”
BAUMGARDNER suggested that an attempt be made to obtain a computer run out by the Department of Agriculture, the fastest way to update the zoning map. Once the map is updated, the Planning Commission will get their own set of maps which they will keep up to date to be used as a planning tool.
“The revision of the zoning ordinances and the comprehensive plan are coming up. We need something to base our decisions on. The zoning maps are already three years behind,” said Masterson. “We have a lot of catching up to do before we go forward.”
