‘Skill-o-ree*
LAST weekend approximately 200 Scouts and Leaders attended the 1976 Shenrapawa District Spring Skill-o-ree at Max Foltz’s Farm along the Shenandoah River west of Luray. Fifteen Boy Scout Troops from Shenandoah, Warren Page and Rappahannock Counties attended this annual event. Patrol and troop competition highlighted the weekend including realistic first aid, lashing, knot tying, tug of war, compass and other skill and fun events.
Winners of the skill competition were the Panther Patrol Troop 4, Front Royal, first place; Rusty Luck Patrol Troop 65, Sperryville, second place; Bison Patrol, Troop 88, Woodstock, third place.
Blue ribbon winners for the entire weekend based on inspection scores were Troop 4, Front Royal; Troop 8, Shenandoah; Troop 36, Flint Hill; Troop 88, Woodstock; Troop 89, Luray; and Troop 112, Rivermont.
Other troops participating in the weekend were Troop 57, Strasburg, Troop 87, Woodstock; Troop 54, Edinburg; Troops 7 & 100, Luray; Troop 50, Amissville; Troop 123, Washington, Va.,;Troop 114,Front Royal.
