He said his minimum requirement was three times as much space as the Clinic has now. He predicted that within ten years the Health Department and Welfare office would be amalgamated and so should have easy access to each other. Since the department works closely with the schools, LeGarde also asked that any move keep the Health Department close to the schools.
While not expressing an opinion on the desirability of constructing a new building, he told the Space Committee that the state would amortize half the county’s investment over 20 years on any facility constructed for the Health Department.
