AT THEIR January Board meeting, Supervisor Chairman Pete Luke stated that Buntin’s signature on the mileage report sheet attesting to the accuracy of the figures included was sufficient verification. At that time, it was also brought out that Buntin’s department, with five deputies, logged 15,000 miles less than the previous sheriff’s office did with three and a half deputies, and in the process, wrote substantially more tickets for county tag violations.
