Luke indicated that he thought construction plans should be kept on a modest scale. “I agree we need additional storage space and some work space. Maybe we could design something with movable partitions,” in order to provide privacy for land transactions. He noted that the additional load on the court house heating system would have to be considered in any expansion. “We can only add so much more to it.”

“The first thing we need to do is get an architect,” commented Supervisor H. B. Wood.

Fanning Baumgardner told the Board that Faulkner had volunteered to come in and give free advice and ideas on design “and if you wanted to hire him as an architect, fine. If not, it wouldn’t hurt his feelings.”
