As to the specific site in question, Foreman said that while he’d done no* borings, “it looks good... I’d be happy with the site if we could go with a general plan, and not regard it as a stopgap.’’
John Schafer, the one contiguous landowner who had not signed a petition favoring use of the site, told the BZA that “I didn’t come to oppose this, on a two-and-a-half year basis, on which it was proposed—all of us should pitch in to help solve a problem. But I’m very disturbed to hear you talking about a much longer period. I hope the Board will condition any approval on the limited term being proposed.’’
Added Schafer: “I think you’ll have some real opposition the next time this permit comes up. We’re upset and so we can’t endorse it, but we don’t oppose it, either, on a limited basis.”
Schafer also said he understood there would be no garbage deposited at the site. Both Foreman and Luke told him this was not so,
