I was glad a Deputy from the Sheriff’s Department was policing, patrolling, travelling, or what ever you wish to call it, near my property one day. A suspicious character was apprehended and a serious situation averted. Thanks to the vigilance of this department, Rappahannock has been a better place to reside.

On Sunday in early Spring 1976, Sheriff Buntin (accompanied by one of his deputies) promptly responded to our call for help, heard the complaint and took immediate action which solved the problem.
We were highly impressed with the professional competence of this man and feel Rappahannock County is fortunate to have a law enforcement officer of his caliber.

I am sure that other absentee property owners in Rappahannock County will join me in urging the continuation of the Sheriff’s Department methods of policing the county. Though I would like to spend all of my time there, at present, it is impossible, so I am glad to have responsible surveilance taking place.
