The mileage issue is not the first time the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors has received bad counsel from the Commonwealth’s Attorney.
Who remembers the ill-advised, but famous, “Battle of the Boundary” instituted by him in 1963? This suit filed against Culpeper and Madison counties was supposed to reclaim as much as ten thousand acres of land belonging to Rappahannock, which would net us untold dollars in lost tax revenue.
This, however, did not happen. The suit cost Rappahannock County thousands and thousands of dollars and we got what the little boy shot at—nothing, that is, except the bill.
