Planning District 9 Executive Director John Capelle presented the Rappahannock Planners with a process for drawing up goals and objectives for the county’s comprehensive plan that met with unanimous approval at Wednesday's Commission meeting.
"You've pretty well captured my thoughts” on how to get ideas on goals and objectives "across to the people and also coordinated with the Board of Supervisors,” said Planner Newbill Miller, committee chairman for development of the comprehensive plan.
After the Planners decide on a preliminary statement of goals. Capelle suggested that they forward it to the Supervisors and then circulate the list to the general public before holding a series of community meetings throughout the county. “Then you can revise the preliminary statement based on public review" before holding one major, countywide public hearing, he told the Planners.
