Richard, a ninth grader, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wolfgang Dierig of Front Royal. Born in New Jersey, he is a first-generation American, his parents having immigrated to the United States from East Germany. Before coming to Wakefield, Richard attended schools in New York. He ranks first in his class academically, having a special interest in mathematics and chess, and is a class Prefect, a locker room Patrol and a member of the Varsity soccer team.
The Christmas procession which these two students have been selected to lead has been a Wakefield tradition since the school opened in 1972. This year’s Christmas procession and pageant will take place on Friday, Dec. 15.
