He noted that the Fauquier Planning Commission had recommended against approval of a subdivision in an agricultural area outside of the county's service districts only to have the Supervisors back down and vote for approval after receiving legal advice that they would be personally liable should they vote to deny the development.
The proposed subdivision will be located "miles from county services," said Thorpe, adding that Fauquier's comprehensive plan strongly advocates the preservation of agriculture and designates five service areas to accomodate growth.
