A funeral for Sarah Ellen Dodson of Brentwood, Md., formerly of Rixeyville, was held Friday at Geest Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper conducted by the Rev. Lindsay Savage. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper. Mrs. Dodson, 82, widow of Benjamin Lee Dodson, died Nov. 14, 1978 at Prince George’s Hospital in Cheverly, Md. A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Sisk and the late Mary Jane Leake. She is survived by six sons, Charlie Dodson and Benjamin Dodson, both of College Park. Updike Ward “Jack” Updike, 68, of Front Royal, died Nov. 15, 1978 in Warren Memorial Hospital. A funeral service was held Saturday at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal conducted by the Rev. Laughton Corr and Elder Hollie Redmon. Interment was in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mr. Updike was bom in Rappahannock County, Jan. 21, 1910, son of Roland James Updike of Rixeyville and the late Willie Moore. He was a member ol Primitive Baptist Church and was retired from the FMC Corporation. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Annie M. Updike of Front Royal; two sons, James W. Updike of Clearbrook and Bernard M. Updike of Front Royal; two daughters, Dorothy Aleshire of Hagerstown, Md., and Marv Lee King of Alexandria; and
