The Rappahannock Supervisors ushered in the dog days of Aupust last week in air conditioned comfort while the world outside the court house baked in 90 degree plus temperatures raised even higher by humidity levels close to 100 per cent.
With the exception of a rezoning hearing (see separate story), the monthly board meeting was as slow and relaxed as a hot summer afternoon.
Supervisor Chairman E. P. Luke reported that the Highway Department had turned down the county’s request to relocate trash dumpsters at the Department’s Amissville storage yard.
In a letter to the board, District Engineer Don Hope maintained that several locations on highway rightof-way in the Amissville area were more suitable for the dumpsters.
