Kent Pierce of Sperryville will have to be content with telling all his buddies about the cucumber that got away. Pierce brought in an unusually large cuke that measured over 18 inches to the News office for a photograph. The picture was snapped and Pierce generously offered the giant cucumber with several others to the News staff since his wife Lite has a four year supply of pickles and relishes already on the shelf. By the time it was dicovered that the film had been improperly rolled in the camera, it was too late for another photograph. The cuke was cut up and sitting in brine. We apologize for our error.
