Democratic Hopeful

Dr. “Ernie” Schlabach, challenger for Nathan Miller’s seat in the Virignia Senate as representative for Rappahannock, Page, Culpeper, Madison and Rockingham counties, dropped in for a brief visit with the Supervisors Thursday.

Schlabach told the Supervisors that he intended to serve as an extension of local government in Richmond if elected.

“I’ve heard that your representatives in Richmond haven’t been around to talk to you. That’s something I’m trying to rectify,” he said, adding that he planned to maintain contact with local governments both before and after the November election. “I should know your problems,” he said in promising to meet with the Supervisors on a six months or yearly basis.
