Boy Scouts from Rappahannock, Fauquier and Loudoun counties are getting a real taste of the outdoor life this week in a pilot project at Windrush Wildlife Sanctuary. The youngsters hiked into a campsite near the Jordan River in the 850 acre sanctuary early Monday morning with their Scoutmasters, carrying supplies for the week in backpacks. By early Tuesday,, the campsite was almost like home.
Three circles of tents—one from each county contingent—clustered in a natural clearing. Enterprising scouts from Fauquier County had built a picnic table, complete with benches, out of logs and twine. Other tablesj constructed in the sameJ fashion held food supplies for each of the groups.
