freshman Jeff Porter. For the first time this year, Panther banketball stars Carl Frye and Glenri Fletcher will try to carry over their speed on the court to the track.

Junior Tim Williams, a returning letterman, will be a threat at discus and shot put, events for which he holds school records.

Returning letterman Doyle Dunn is the big jumper on the boys track team and Speiker expects the junior to shine in high jump, long jump, triple jump and pole • vault. Last year, Dunn advanced to state competition in the high jump.

Harrison Hughes, John Shanahan and Gary Foster, all returning lettermen, will lead RCHS’s hurdle contingent.

Last year, the high school hosted its first home meet on the track donated by the Panther Athletic League. This year, there are three home games scheduled (April 7, 21 and 26, all at 3:45) and both coaches have extended an invitation to the community to come out and cheer the Panthers on to victory.
