Strutting and posing across the backyard, pea fowl are thfe, cocks of the walk at two Rappahannock farms.
They flash their brilliant, irridescent colors at Richard Hitt's in Amissville and stun visitors with their elegance at John McKay’s in Castleton. It's difficult to ’ say who is prouder of their beauty—the birds or their masters.
“I've always wanted a peacock. I just wanted to have them around,” said Hitt. “I love wildlife and I love having things like this to fool with.”
