Gasohol production interest seems to be reviving throughout the Old Dominion as prices of gasoline and diesel fuel continue to rise, says Harold A. Hughes, extension agricultural engineer at Virginia Tech. However. Mr. Hughes cautions that the problems of cost, labor requirements and inadequate still designs remain the same.
Average production appears to be about two gallons per bushel of corn, instead of the 2.6 gallons usually quoted.
