In Crisis
To the editor:
The Castleton Fire Company has reached a crisis. Without community support we may not be able to continue answering calls.
Our main problem is lack of personnel, not only to answer calls, but to do the myriad other jobs required to keep the company ready to serve.
If the Castleton community is serious about having a Fire Dept., its people must put aside their differences and do what is required to make this a viable company.
What’s required? Glad you asked. There will be a drill at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 11, at the fire house. Any and all able-bodied volunteers are requested to show up and sign up. If we can’t get people enough, to run this outfit, we’ll have to close our doors. This is serious business. We should do it right, or not at all. STEPHEN C. HOSTETTER
