1. Go to the Commissioner of Revenue’s office in Washington. Ask Commissioner Merle Scoggin for the cards for any properties you wish to compare—your own, your neighbors’ or a similar farm or house in another district. She will help you find the right cards. Just give her the names and approximate locations.
2. Ask for a place in a side room to sit down and review them. Tell her you may need her help and that you will call her if you do. Ask her to get you started on a card, if you wish. She has helped me on all these questions.
3. If you prefer not to stay there but to go home and review the cards privately, ask her just to copy whatever cards you need. You will need just one side of the card. She or you can be sure the card owner’s name is written in.
