The Attorney General’s ruling does not address several other notice provisions involved with the Equalization Board, according to local attorney David Konick.
He reported that section 58-903 of the Virginia Code requires the Equalization Board to give public notice of each sitting at least ten days beforehand in a newspaper of general circulation in the locality. The law also stipulates that notice of when and where the Equalization Board is sitting must be posted at the courthouse and each voting precinct by the sheriff or h]^’deputy, the attorney said.
