Arthur W. Arundel of The Plains, publisher of the Rappahannock News, is one of three prominent Virginia businessmen active in animal related enterprises who have been named chairman and vice-chairman of the capital campaign for the VirginiaMaryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.
Arundel and W. Alexander Stuart, Jr., of Russell County w ill serve as vice-chairman of the campaign with Daniel G. Van Clief of Albermarle CMiutji m cMtrtnan.
Arundel, who is extensively involved in Virginia's horse breeding and equine-related activities, said he was pleased to join in the leadership of the campaign. "This longneeded modern network of veterinary services and facilities is destined to touch, in one way or another, every animal breeder and livestock producer in this part of America."
Virginia Tech President W.E. Lavery announced the top leadership appointments for the $8 million capital campaign. designed to complete the initial capital funding for the developing regional veterinary school on the Tech campus. The veterinary medical program is closely coordinated with the University of Maryland to serve the two-state region.
