James Ashby Atkins, 63, of Washington, died Wednesday, June 30, 1982, at the Veterans Hospital, Washington. D. C.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Geest-Johnson Chapel by the Rev. John K. Burke. Burial was in the Washington Masonic Cemetery.
A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of Maggie Frye Atkins of Washington and the late Ashby Atkins.
In addition to his mother, survivors include one son, James Roger Atkins of Stewarts Draft; one daughter, Mrs. Verna Lee Gibson of Grottoes; four brothers, Fred Atkins of Washington, Harrison Atkins of Front Royal, Eugene Atkins of Valdosta, Ga. and J. E. Atkins of Union Beach, N. J. and two sisters, Mrs. Jane A. Estes of California and Mrs. Emily A. Price of Union Beach, N. J.
