Bobby carter, son

of Mr. and Mrs. Roy

Carter of Amissville. won the 1930 Pig-Chick-Heifer Contest with his pig. "Carter's Proud Miss 33 . Bobby lias owned this pig for ten years and it has born several litters. The contest was sponsored by Sears and Roebuck Company. Rappahannock Garden Club began work on a roadside beautification project in the Sperryville community in cooperation with the American Legion's program.

High Robert "Sugar"

Deal of Sperryville

was killed instantly when he attempted to pass a car and lost control of his car. He hit a bridge abutment outside of Sperryville.

Mr. and Mrs. W .C. Hall formerly of Rose Hill, outside of W ashington. Ya.. celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Joining the celebration were 140 friends and relatives.

Mrs. Ethel Cooksey retired from the position of Postmistress of the Amissville Post Office after serving there for over 2d years. W hen she first began working there the Post Office was in the Latham's store.

and former employee in Ihe Shenandoan National Park, returned to the area as District Ranger in the Northern Section of the Park.

Miss Bonnie North of Huntly. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey North, was presented with a $100 scholarship to the school of her choice. She won the scholarship as first prize in the Jaycee Beauty Pagent.
