Miss Linda Carol Settle, daughter

Miss Linda Carol Settle, daughter of Mrs. Brown (Effie) Settle of Culpeper, became the bride of Fabian Franklin Henry of Culpeper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Settle of Flint Hill. The bride is also the daughter of the late Brown Settle of Castleton.

The double ring ceremony took place on Saturday, June 22, at four o’clock in the afternoon at Hope Hill Baptist Church, Castleton. The Rev. Milton Switzer, Sr., officiated.

Escorted and given in marriage by her brother, Larry Settle of Culpeper, the bride wore a white satin gown with venise and schiffli lace adorning the skirt and bodice. The gown featured a sheer yoke with a high neck made of venise and schiffli lace, melon style sleeves edged in lace, and long skirt with lace ruffles. Her chapel length train was made of rows of baby ruffled lace. Her veil of silk illusion fell from a Camelot cap.

She carried a bouquet of white silk roses with a touch of lilac and pink flowers entwined in the bouquet and lace streamers.

Mrs. Joey Brown of Culpeper was matron of honor for her sister. She wore a gown of rose pink tissue taffeta featuring a low ruffled neckline with a lattice back. She carried a lace fan with deep pink silk orchids with pink lace streamers, and wore pink lily of the valley and baby’s breath in her hair.

Bridesmaids were Miss Karen Payne of Sperryville, niece of the bride, and Miss Wendy Clarke of Berryville, friend of the bride. Their gowns were of lilac taffeta fashioned like the matron of honor’s costume. They carried lace fans with lavender silk orchids and lavender lace streamers, and wore lilac lily of the valley and baby’s breath in their hair.

Best man was Charles Settle of Flint Hill, father of the groom.
