Margaret McCarthy was one of 74 students awarded a doctor of veterinary medicine (D.V.M.) degree by the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM) during exercises held last month at Virginia Tech.
Margaret is the daughter of Eugene J. McCarthy of Woodville.
The VMRCVM is one of the newest veterinary colleges in the nation, graduating its first class last year.
