‘Desperately Seeking Susan’
A bored New Jersey housewife (Arquette) seeks excitement among the New Wave set in the East Village and, through some surreal twists and turns, ends up with another woman’s identity — Susan, who is played with great style by the rock star Madonna. “Desperately Seeking Susan” will be shown this Saturday and Sunday, August 3 and 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the Gay Street Theatre in Washington. This is a delightful farce with cameo appearances by several cult stars such as Anne Carlisle (Liquid Sky). It’s rated PG-13.
Historical Society Picnic
Rain or shine, th - Rappahannock Historical Society will hold its annual picnic at the home of John Morgan at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 2.
In case of rain, the picnic will be held on the porches or in the house.
