ippose LUV - in public or in private, ndeed, we do not know anyone who las been or is attacking land use.

We confess our total bafflement as o PEC’s motives in trying to involve and use in controversy where there tas been no controversy. We are even nore mystified at the PEC effort to itir up enmity between farmers and lomeowners, and between farmers and ‘advocates of quality education.” The PEC cannot believe that this divisive ipproach will foster agreement on LUV as a way to help preserve farmng and the rural character of this county.

What surely is needed is consents and cooperation to advance both of ;hese common goals: the achievement-or preservation - of quality educa;ion and the preservation of the county’s rural character.

May we also respond to a PEC quote from one farm owner that “people want services that will take a tax increase but they want somebody else to pay that increase.” The people who are fighting for quality education are not the people who sought and got tax abatement through LUV. The people plumping for quality education are the people who are calling for the tax-rate increases required to pay for it.
