Germanna Nursing Program

The Germanna Community College Nursing Program is now accepting applications for entry into the program. The Nursing program is a two-year, full-time day course which prepares graduates to qualify to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Virginia registered nurses. Graduates of the program receive an Associate in Applied Science degree with a major in nursing.

The deadline for applications to be received at the Germanna campus in February 14.

Community services at Warren Memorial

The Stroke Support Group will meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. in the Physical Therapy Department of Warren Memorial Hospital. The Support Club is for persons who have had a stroke and/or members of their families. This group is self-directed and its members have been sharing experiences and methods of coping with situations related to strokes. There is no charge for attending this group meeting.

The Diabetic Support Group will meet the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the hospital conference room. Free blood sugar' monitoring will be available.

Free blood pressure screening is done every Wednesday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the South Lobby.

Aerobic dance classes

A six-week series of aerobic dance classes will be held January 14 through February 21. Afternoon classes will be at the Flint Hill fire hall at 4 p.m. Tuesday and Fridays.

Evening classes will be at Rappahannock Elementary School at 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Class fee is $25 for twice a week, $35 for unlimited.
