The mayor then went over the ordinance as it is written and determined from council members if the permit would violate the law. Council members agreed that no violation of law would occur although Mr. Wickens made one dissension on a point.

Voting for the special permit were Mayor Peter Kramer, Treasurer Brad Fisher, Council members Newbill Miller, Dorothy Clater and Wallace Critzer. Council member William Wickens abstained.

Council member Evelyn Willis was not in attendance.

In other matters, the council passed the budget, reviewed a new brass valve to be attached to water meters, and heard from a resident interested in placing a stop light at the intersection of Main and Middle Streets.
