In the January 9 issue of the Rappahannock News we incorrectly reported the manner in which user fees will be determined for the Sperryville Sewage Treatment System. Project Administrator Wayne Cilimberg states that “user fees will be derived by dividing the yet to be finalized system budget by the number of equivalent dwelling units (EDUs) to be served by the system. A dwelling unit is defined as ‘any room, group ofrogms, house trailer or other enclosure occupied or intended for occupancy as separate living quarters by a family or other group of persons living together or by a person living alone’. An EDU is based on the average estimated volume of sewage generated in a dwelling unit. EDUs will be applied to both multiple residential and nonresidential users of the system based on the EDU schedule contained in the sewer use ordinance adopted.” The Rappahannock News regrets the error.
In the January 9 issue of the Rappahannock News Pauline Bruce wrote a letter to the editor stating her support of the Scrabble site for a dog pound. “We were told that more than $400 had already been invested there” was incorrectly printed; the amount stated in her letter was $4000. In the January 9 issue of the Rappahannock News a chimney fire at the residence of Kirk and Pat Davis was reported to have occurred in an unlined chimney, based on a firefighter’s statement. According to Pat Davis, the residence has a lined chimney. The Rappahannock News regrets the error.
