Mrs. Andreoni announced that Mr. Gregory Drescher’s sixth grade class now had a microscope for its science projects, courtesy of the SPTA. Several other teachers have requested and received funds for specified needs, including art, computer and playground equipment. Also purchased was a computer program designed for newspaper editing. Faculty advisor and sixth grade - teacher for the school, Lucy Ann Maeyer, stated that “our first newspaper edition is scheduled for late February and we very much appreciated the SPTA’s role in this worth- ' while educational endeavour.”
SPTA members also voted to assist with a “gifted and talented” program meetmg between interested parents anaichool administrators to be held in the near future. Other SPTA activities in January include popular sock hops, with the first scheduled for January 17th. “Our sock hops offer better-than-ever sounds, due to our new stereo equipment and our talented disc jockey. The children thoroughly eryoy themselves and the SPTA raises funds to support school projects,” explained Edie Clark, coordinator.
