The political will of the people on all of this in Fauquier County was clearly spoken six years ago when its voters delivered a rather clear mandate: They threw out the pro-fast growth old supervisors and elected new ones.
The message was to set zoning which will stop rural subdivisions outside of town service districts, that industry and housing growth should come not along rural roads but around core towns and villages designed to provide affordable and efficient utilities, streets, schools and law enforcement.
