Bloodmobile Nov. 26
The Extension Homemaker Clubs will host the Red Cross Bloodmobile on Monday, Nov. 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. “Even though this is a busy time of year during the holidays, don’t forget to come to the Bloodmobile and give blood/’ said Helen Smith, Advisor to the Extension Homemaker Clubs. “The gift of life is the best gift you could give someone this holiday season.”
Woman's Club to meet
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Toni Updike near Washington. This month’s program will include a Christmas ornament making by Helen Smith and a bow making demonstration by Barbara Burke. All members are encouraged to attend.
Open auditions Nov. 25
Open auditions for Olde Towne Theatre, a new, professional production group re-located from the Off-Off Broadway scene in NYC, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25 from noon to 2 p.m. at the newly refurbished Gay Street Theatre in Washington. The show, yet to be named, will open on March 1, 1991 at the theatre. Prepare a threeminute monolougue for audition. Actors and crew are compensated a percentage of the net profit. 'Paths to the Edge' premiers Dec. 1
Ki Theatre will present “Paths to the Edge,” a program of new stories and new music by 2 duo teams of artists from Ki Theatre and Trapezoid, on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m., in Washington’s Town Hall on Gay Street. It features Julie Portman, director of Ki Theatre, Paul Reisler, director of the music group Trapezoid, and Bob Read, composer, arranger and member of Trapezoid. Advance tickets for “Paths to the Edge” are $7.50, $8.50 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at: Mountainside Market and The Country Cafe in Washington; New Leaf Bookstore and Organic Harvest in Warrenton; Royal Oak Bookstore in Front Royal; and Culpeper Music in Culpeper. Members of Ki Theatre can purchase tickets for $6.50 at Mountainside Market.
Duet to perform
The acoustical duo, Half Tone Blues, Joe Butler and Linda Orfila, will perform at the Caprice Cafe in Warrenton on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 9 p.m. There will be a $2 cover charge. The Cafe is located across from the courthouse lawn and is open for dinner.
Blue Ridge Christmas
The Sperryville Business Council will sponsor a Blue Ridge Christmas Nov. 23, 24 and 25 throughout the town from 10 to 6 each day. There will be seasonal sales, gift ideas, door prizes, free refreshments, wreaths, trees, country Christmas decorations and much more.
