The Rappahannock Extension Homemakers Clubs held their annual Achievement Night Monday, Nov. 5 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington.
Mrs. Virginia Scott, a retired actress from Castleton, presented a very delightful program of “Dramatized Folk Music.” At the conclusion of the program she showed the puppets which she had made that depict all the characters in her folk songs.
During the awards portion of the program Marie Davis, president, presented the 1990 Reading certificates. Alice Lawrence, membership chairman, presented Years in VEHC certificates.
Doris Donald, chairman of the exhibits, announced that the Flint Hill Club won first place for its educational exhibit and Amiss ville placed second.
Mrs. Davis announced that there was a tie for the 1990 Club of the Year between Flint Hill and Amissville Clubs. Helen Smith, Extension Agent, presented the Homemaker of the Year award to Mrs. Alice Pullen.
Mrs. Smith also installed the new county council officers for 1991. They are: President, Maybelle Gilkey of Chester Gap; Secretary, Frances Semones of Amissville; Treasurer, Doreen Wooten of Amissville; membership chairman, Alice Lawrence of Amissville; and publicity chairman, Janet Eastham of Flint Hill.
