The lessons, starting with setting goals and determining net worth, covered such topics as establishing credit, budgeting, handling cash flow, insurance, investments and legal matters.
Guest speakers included Helen Ryan of Scott and Stringfellow, local attorney Sharon Luke, Mary Payne of the Rappahannock National Bank, and Dr. Irene Leech, professor of consumer affairs at Virginia Tech.
Those who took the course felt it had been very helpful. One said she wanted to send a workbook to her daughter.
