In memory of our son and brother, Larry Woodard. A special time of year is here. For loved ones to gather near. But for us it's a time of pain. Our lives will never be the same. A place at the table without you there. The loneliness we'll have to bear, So quickly you left us without a goodbye, We can't understand why you wanted to die. If only we could have read your mind. If only we hadn't been so blind. We did't know of the pain you felt, . Of the hopelessness with which you dealt. Our hearts cry out why couldn’t we see. Of what was about to be? If only you had thought and could have seen, How much we loved you and how our grief won't end, No way for us is this the end. We must go on until we meet again, The peace on earth you couldn't find. With God we know you have love divine, For He forgives and keeps His own. Where He will never leave you alone. So we will never forget each day, To ask God's help to find a way, So we'll look up and cany our cross Of the pain and sorrow of our loss, When God is ready we'll meet again, So all we suffered won't be in vain. So though your dear face we cannot tee, We know you're pear whan you will always be.
