RAWL Volunteer Donna Landry, signed RAWL up for the Adoption Days, and RAWL has been participating ever since. Does it work? You bet! To date, 64 animals have been adopted through the program, and many donations have been received. Contributions from members and supporters of RAWL, have made it possible to spay or neuter all animals old enough for the operation, before they are adopted at the Petstuff stores. As of July 1, 1993, Virginia State Law mandates that all animal? adopted from shelters are to be sterilized. This is to be done within 30 days of the adoption, or immediately when a young animal reaches maturity. RAWL saves countless hours of phone calls, paper work, manpower and potential attorney fees, by having the operation done' before the animals is adopted.
