Two passports were apparently taken from the mail, according to Sheriff John Henry Woodward.
Sheriff Woodward said his department received a report last Monday from Marshall Jones of Route 1, Washington, that an envelope that should have contained two passports was found empty in his mailbox. The loss was also reported to the postal authorities.
Sheriff Woodward said he does not know if the passports were taken before or after the envelope was put in the mailbox.
