After a hiatus for Christmas vacation and winter storms, high school sports activities resumed this tveek, with voleyball games at home Monday and away Thursday, Junior Panther basketball games Monday and Tuesday, and boys’ basketball Barnes Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
' Wakefield Country Day School is also is also fielding boys’ and girls’ basketball teams this winter. This is the first year fort he girls’ team.
The RCHS volleyball teams lost Monday to determined teams from George Mason in Falls Church. The junior varsity games were virtual blowouts. The varsity team started pith a continuation of the sort of game seen from the JV, losing the first game 4 to 15. However they Stormed back in the second game taking a 9 to 0 lead and hanging on to pin 16 to 14. The third game was close, but George Mason managed a )5to 11 win. I The WCDS boys’ team managed it 46 to 34 victory over the Blue ilidge B team. Oliver Colley had 17 vebounds, 6 blocked shots and 14 points for the WCDS team. Chris Johnson led scorers with 15 points. The team’s record is five wins and seven losses. { The WCDS girls’ team is struggling and is 0 and 4 so far. They lost jo RMA 27 to 43 last week.
